ROLLISON TREE

23 Sept 2021

We can now say that, that for this branch of the Rollasons the roots  are clearly the West Midlands, more specifically in the Black Country. They have remained very loyal to the this area through the generations, Dudley, Stourbridge, Sedgley and Upper and Lower Gornal are signifcant in this respect.

The Black Country is an area of the West Midlands covering the metropolitan
boroughs of Dudley, Sandwell and a bit of Walsall. It became industrialised as one of the birthplaces of the Industrial revolution . It had coal mines, coking iron foundaries, glass factories all  producing  the black  soot polution that gave the area its name around 1840

13/ 03/20 POST2 It is  is now becoming clearer....

Around 1914 Grandfather changed his name to Rollison from Rollason. With this established it quickly becomes clear that there are a large number of Rollasons who were/are not aware of each others existence. The main base for Rollasons is the Stourbridge area of the ~West Midlands  We have connections with about 150 Rollasons

13/6/19 POST1 The  challenge

The first challenge in this tree is to firmly establish a London  - Stourbridge link. If we can establish Victor Rollason is that link, then we can develop it from there, if not then this could be one of the shortest family trees possible and will depend on the ‘Child’ Family connections
